Hospitals can be very intimidating and even scary, unfortunately many patients are required to spend a great deal of time in one. It is our goal that by implementing the theories of the Planetree model, we can through art, make a hospital much more comfortable. Images of nature, warm colors and subjects that engage the patient all contribute to a general sense of well being.

Focusing on the patient is called Patient Centered Care, those who have adopted this model believe Patient Centered Care is critical to the health and healing of their patients. Interpreting a patients needs may vary depending on their type of care. This holistic approach to healthcare design encompasses every detail. Art is no exception. Each area of a hospital or clinic will require a specific style or type of art, it also requires a great deal of thought to ensure that the patients needs are being met. Art selection will vary by region, by patient profile or any number of variables. What’s important is that the variables are considered integral to the selection and placement of art within your facility.
